Biology

Solitary predatory wasps, provisioning nest constructed in ground, mostly with paralyzed adult Diptera, or in the case of Belomicrus, Hemiptera or Coleoptera for consumption by the wasp larvae (Bohart & Menke, 1976). Oxybelus carry the prey impaled on the sting, a derived prey transport adaptation (Bohart & Menke, 1976).
