Homalotylus africanus Timberlake, 1919. Holotype catalogue number 22036 in Washington DC (USNM). Type locality: Cape Town, South Africa.

Distribution

Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania.

Biology

Parasitoid of Coccinellidae (Coleoptera). Type series was reared "bred from Dactylopius or Coccinellid" (Timberlake, 1919). Records of scale insects as hosts are incorrect (Noyes, 2010).
