Diversity

44 world species (Fusu & Gibson, 2024, Gibson, 1989, Noyes, 2019).

Biology

Idiobiont ectoparasitoids of xylophagous beetle larvae (Anobiidae, Bostrichidae, Brentidae, Buprestidae, Cerambycidae and Curculionidae (Fusu & Gibson, 2024, Gibson, 1989; Bouček, 1977; Burks, 1979, Cao et al., 2020). Metapelma nobile was reared together with Anobiidae and Buprestidae (Bouček, 1977); Metapelma spectabile is a parasitoid of species in te families Brentidae, Buprestidae and Curculionidae (Burks, 1979).
