Taxonomic history
|
Parapenesia was originally placed in the
Pristocerinae (Bethylidae). Terayama (2003a) established a new subfamily
Parapenesiinae to accommodate this genus, which, based on phylogenetic
analyses, was recovered as an outlying clade within the Bethylidae. More
recently the genus, which is only known from females, was transferred to
the Plumariidae (Terayama, 2006). |
