Diagnosis

This species is most easily confused with Xenocynips rhothion, but the sculpture of the pronotum is distinct from that species; in X. subsquamata, the pronotum is horizontally costate, but the costa do not result in the wave-like crests found in X. rhothion. Additionally, the central propodeal keel is entire in X. subsquamata, and forked in X. rhothion.
