Scelio striatus Priesner, 1951. Holotype: in USNM, Washington DC. Type locality: Al Ma’adi (Meadi), Egypt.

Scelio gaudens Nixon, 1958. Holotype: in The Natural History Museum, London (BMNH). Type locality: Mali. (Synonymy by Yoder et al. 2014).

Distribution

Botswana, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Mali, Namibia, Nigeria, Somalia, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Zimbabwe.

Biology

Host unknown, but probably an egg parasitoid of grasshoppers in the family Acrididae (Orthoptera).
