Distribution

Botswana, Central African Republic, Madagascar, Namibia, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania.

Also Palaearctic region (Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Morocco, southern & central Europe, Russia) and Indo-Australasian region (Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, West Papua). Introduced to Nearctic region (Canada, USA).

Biology

Hosts: Camaedoera (Buprestidae), Agrilus (Buprestidae), Agrilus graminis (Buprestidae), Agrilus suvorovi (Buprestidae), Agrilus viridis (Buprestidae), Prinus palliatus (Anobiidae), Xyleborus (Scolytinae).
